A Greasy Situation

One of my favorite things to cook on our gas grill is pizza. Last night I whipped up a mushroom, onion, and pepperoni pizza. I set it on my stainless steel pizza pan and carried it out to the grill.

Meanwhile, We noticed that as the grill was pre-heating that we started with a small grease fire. This reminded me that considering it’s the beginning of the BBQ season that I should clean my grease trap and bottom of my grill. For a step by step procedure for spring cleaning your grill, be sure to check out this check list.

Here are a few other maintenance tips:
1. I like to rub a little olive oil on what I’m cooking. This prevents the food from sticking to the grates.
2. Keep your grill at least 5 feet away from any building structure to prevent a grease fire from spreading.
3. You can clean your grimy grill grates by sprinkling a little baking soda on a damp grill brush and start scrubbing. Rinse clean.
